MTA signs agreement to acquire majority stake in EFI Technology

MTA, a multinational company renowned for the development and production of a wide range of electrical and electronic products for the automotive world, announces the signing of the agreement for the acquisition of 60% of the shares of EFI Technology, an Italian company global leader in the development and production of Powertrain Control Systems for both combustion and electric vehicles. In addition to powertrain control systems, core business of EFI Technology, the company’s range includes battery management systems (BMS), inverters, body computers, active suspension controls.

The current shareholders of EFI Technology continue to hold the 40% of the company’s shares, maintaining their management and operational roles. The transaction is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

This transaction confirms MTA’s willingness to increase its offer of solutions intended for OEMs, already highlighted with the previous acquisitions of EDN S.r.l. in 2023 (On-board Battery Charger and power converters for electric and hybrid vehicles) and the Calearo S.p.A. business unit in 2024 (antennas and wireless connectivity solutions).
