Among the various electronic components that MTA supplies to the vehicle sector, its dashboards represent a most important chapter and have been developed by Digitek in over 20 years of work in this field; it is a company that the Group recently acquired and its dashboards are destined for use in a variety of applications, be they road or track.
We refer to dashboards supplied to the Car Makers such as Saab, unique and prestigious pieces such as Lamborghini Reventon, not to mention applications for Aprilia and Ducati which, for several years now, have been assembled on road and racing bikes. Alongside these products, MTA develops in-house and markets through MTA Corse a series of systems regarding data logging, telemetry and optical detection systems, used in the world-class races. Since 1999 MTA, as Digitek, has developed a module in close collaboration with Aprilia Corse called the Poker, which integrates display and data logging and a series of other vehicle control options; it can now boast extensive expertise in this sector which has led to the presentation of two new modules: Eagle and Phoenix, dashboards that can incorporate data logging and are designed for the major world car and motorcycle championship events. Designed to meet the changing demands of enthusiasts and professionals who compete in all levels of competitions, both products are highly versatile using software which is tailored to suit individual needs. The products can, in fact, be configured to suit every possible need and, in this sense, is potentially without boundaries; this is what makes them the ideal solution for every team, and every requirement, whether for running on two or four wheels. Eagle is a product primarily designed for enthusiasts and can be supplied with or without the data logging option; in this second case the data logging is fitted with a CAN line with 10 inputs for analog signals and 2 digital inputs for speed and RPM. It integrates within a single module the logging with a matrix LCD display, providing compact size and a good cut in costs compared to the two separate products. The versatility aspects of Eagle means it can be integrated within the so-called intelligent steering wheels used in racing, focusing the display and logging functions on the steering wheel and allowing the pilot to have direct control over vehicle parameters which are particularly important during the race. Phoenix on the other hand, is a more evolved module in terms of display and data logging functions and therefore intended for a more professional use; it is available in two different models, with or without data logging. The dashboard features an LCD display with both matrix and segment viewing options, these latter feature guarantee excellent visibility because they provide highly accurate large-sized graphical representations which refresh very quickly. Phoenix also has an integrated GPS module and, therefore, we can find display, data logging and GPS options in one single product; this leads to a more compact device, which weighs and costs less and has a really simple wiring. Finally, thanks to its extensive configuration options, the data logging fixture can be expanded to include other modules, such as Cobra and Lizard from another MTA range, and achieve outstanding professional performance. It can also be interfaced with the new product Visus, which integrates audio/video logger functions with the data logger; a great advantage in terms of weight, space and costs.
