MTA renews its over ten-year collaboration with FCA, developing various components for the new Fiat Panda and Fiat 500 Mild Hybrid, and for the iconic Fiat 500 Full Electric.
The Fiat Panda and Fiat 500 Mild Hybrid adopt, alongside the petrol engine, a motor generator capable of recovering energy in the deceleration and braking phases and storing it in a special auxiliary battery, to then release it during acceleration.
For the hybrid system of Fiat Panda and Fiat 500 Mild Hybrid, MTA has developed a specific junction node, equipped with a cover. The node is screwed under the car floor, outside the vehicle and, thanks to the presence of silicone gaskets, it is watertight, with IP69K protection. Connected via a threaded pin directly to the auxiliary battery (located inside the passenger compartment), it powers the electric motor and the charging system.
For the Fiat 500 Full Electric, MTA has developed some electrical products for the distribution of energy from the battery and the protection of some services. It is an engine compartment distribution unit, called FRB, an RB relay unit and a 20 MiniVal fuse holder module. The three units are contained in a plastic support made specifically for this project, equipped with a lid with snap closure which does not need the use of tools.
The supply to Fiat 500 Full Electric is completed by the tested MTA battery distribution unit, called CBA, in the new Strong version; it is equipped with a metal bracket, a quick lever clamping system and 4 fuses, 2 MidiVal (30 A and 70 A) and 2 MegaVal (150 A and 200 A), also manufactured by MTA.
The important supplies to FCA for Fiat Panda, Fiat 500 Mild Hybrid and Fiat 500 Full Electric are further confirmation of MTA's ability to develop products in line with the renewed needs of the world of mobility. Currently MTA is, in fact, able to produce products for all electrical architectures currently used by manufacturers, from traditional 12 V, through the various hybridizations, up to high voltage systems.
